Paul is responsible for business development and is focused on achieving shared success for Right of Light Consulting’s clients and employees. Paul has over 20 years of surveying experience. Before specialising in rights of light, Paul worked as a Senior Surveyor at EC Harris LLP on projects in central London and the West End.

Anthony joined Right of Light Consulting in 2003 and has since established a broad client base. Anthony’s technical expertise and client focus has enabled him to successfully deliver some of our largest and most complex projects. Anthony has also developed computer facilitated techniques to undertake Building Research Establishment (BRE) daylight and sunlight calculations.

Paul joined Right of Light Consulting in 2009 and has undertaken numerous commissions to advise developers on the impact their schemes will have on the daylight, sunlight and rights of light enjoyed by neighbouring properties, in order to try to maximise site development potential. This has required technical and detailed design advice for many high profile landmark buildings and clients. With a wide-ranging knowledge of the commercial property market and rights of light case law, Paul has also been involved in a number of complex legal negotiations.

Shirley joined Right of Light Consulting in 2008 and has since been providing planning and rights of light advice, support and representation to clients throughout the UK. Shirley specialises in providing advice on a diverse range of proposals from home extensions to major city developments. Shirley’s clients include residential and commercial property owners, management companies, hotel chains, local authorities and housing associations. Shirley also provides a practical approach to dispute resolution and negotiation.

Matthew joined Right of Light Consulting at the beginning of 2014, following completion of his master’s degree in Geology. Since joining, Matthew has worked on some of our most complex and technically challenging projects, managing rights of light risks and maximising development potential for his clients. Matthew uses his technical knowledge and critical evaluation skills to help developers address daylight and sunlight considerations.

Joe joined Right of Light Consulting in January 2017, after graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Joe is regularly commissioned by both developers and objectors to provide daylight, sunlight and rights of light advice, technical analyses and reports.  Having experience working on both sides of development proposals has allowed Joe to act effectively in numerous negotiations for small and large scale schemes.  Joe has also been involved in leading some new business development ideas and has a strong interest in improving quality and work management.

Alice joined Right of Light Consulting in 2017 after completing her Geography degree at the University of Exeter.  Alice is continuing her studies and currently working towards achieving an MSc in Rural and Urban Planning and becoming a RICS Chartered Surveyor. Since joining Right of Light Consulting, Alice has worked alongside senior members of the team on large and complex projects that has provided her with the skills to begin forming her own client base. With an extensive background in customer service, Alice has an approach that is client focused, allowing effective working relationships to be established. Alice also supports the objector side of the business, with project experience ranging from small residential disputes to large scale urban developments.

Charles joined Right of Light Consulting in 2017 having attained a first-class LLB honours degree (Law). He has a keen interest in rights of light negotiations and case law, applying skills derived from his academic and law enforcement experience. He previously worked with the public affairs team for High Speed Two (HS2) where he dealt with a range of land, property and legal related matters. Charles has fostered growth within our neighbourly matters and objections team. He is now continuing his professional development with planning and commercial experience.

Warrick joined Right of Light Consulting as a site surveyor and now also specialises in 3d point cloud laser scanning work. His previous roles were in the design and 3D modelling environments, where attention to detail was always key. Warrick continues to use his skills, together with the latest technology when tasked to produce accurate point cloud surveys.

Her experience has been invaluable in reviewing and formalising our internal processes, whilst ensuring business compliance is maintained. Lorna provides ongoing support to the surveying team by managing the administration activities of the business. Lorna’s role continues to develop by focusing on new business development ideas and marketing opportunities.
