RICS Publish Right of Light Guidance Note
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) published a guidance note for use by its members. Produced by specialist RICS members and legal experts, the guidance deals with easements known as ‘rights of light’ and outlines the approach to be adopted by surveyors practising in this field.
The guidance note focuses on the different stages of a potential dispute and the processes that a member could follow as examples of best practice. Particular emphasis is given to the primary roles of Land Registry, the professional advisor and the chartered surveyor in a rights of light dispute situation. In addition, the guidance note contains extensive listings of further reading and online resources.
