Right of Light Seminar

Right of Light Consulting hosted a seminar with their associate office, Smith Marston and the commercial team from BTMK Commercial & Law. The main focus of this event was to share right of light expertise and legal knowledge and discuss the most recent cases which affect how rights of light are dealt with. We also discussed opportunities for collaboration going forward aimed at improving access to legal advice for our clients.

Following the seminar, attendees joined an informative and enjoyable evening seminar hosted by 42 Bedford Row chambers. Speakers Stephen Murch, Desmond Kilcoyne and Edmond Walters spoke on the following subjects:

• Claims under Part 2 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
• Guiding Light – proposals by the Law Commission for reform of Rights of Light
• A sword of Damocles for developers? – the current law on injunction and damages
